Hidden work: almost 800 million euros of adjustments in 2022


Adjustments made by Urssaf for covert work amounted to almost 800 million euros in 2022, the organization said on Thursday, which provides “very significant increase” for the coming years. “In 2022, hidden work adjustments amount to 788.1 million euros”Jann-Gael Amgar, CEO of Urssaf, said during a press conference.

The number of adjustments is almost stable compared to 2021, but “translated very strong growth in the long termalso noted the CEO. Over the past five years (2018-2022) more than “3.5 billion that was recalculated, representing an increase of 50% over the previous five-year period”. He attributes this to both increased resources and improved controls, including “more focused”.

Construction industry, the sector most affected by the overhauls

In particular, in 2022, 88% of the adjustments relate to employers and 12% to the self-employed. The sectors most represented in reimbursement amounts are construction (66.5%), business services (8%), transport (5.1%) and trade (4.5%). The average amount of adjustments is 146,969 euros. As for the collection of debts resulting from the fight against hidden work, Ursaf indicates that in 2022 the amounts will amount to “just over 77 million euros”and in terms of social benefits, “equivalent to 25,667 days in intensive care”.

The body programs for the future “very significant increase” adjustments, with “five billion over the next five years”, said the general manager. To do this, Urssaf needs, in particular, to have 240 additional full-time equivalent posts (+60%).
