Spotify subscribers will have to put their hands in their wallet. The music streaming platform just announced price increases in 52 countries. And France is concerned. From now on, a Premium subscription at €9.99 per month from the debut of Spotify in France will cost €10.99 per month. The Swedish music streaming giant is also expanding its offerings.
The Duo offer (that is, two premium accounts for a shared subscription if you live under the same roof) costs between 12.99 and 14.99 euros per month. Ditto for the Family offer (up to six accounts in one location), which also increases by €2 from €15.99 to €17.99 per month. As for the student plan, it now costs €5.99, up from €4.99 per month.
- Netflix gains nearly 6 million new subscribers by cracking down on account sharing
This price increase, already mentioned in 2022, allows Spotify to join its competitors, namely Deezer or Apple Music. “These updates will help us continue to deliver value to fans and artists.”, justifies a company that has over 200 million paid subscribers worldwide. Spotify posted a net loss of 430 million euros in 2022.
