Attention event! While the Cannes Film Festival is still putting the finishing touches on the official selection for its 76th edition, which will run from May 16 to 27, organizers are announcing the availability of a “very” big film this Friday. Flower Moon Assassins, the new Martin Scorsese with Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro will indeed have a world premiere on Saturday, May 20 at the Bolshoi Lumiere Theatre. And according to rumors, it will be one of the longest in his career. Also one of the most successful?
Based on the bestselling book by David Grann, written by Eric Roth and Martin Scorsese. Flower Moon Assassins Set in 1920s Oklahoma, it follows the serial murders of members of the Osage community who became rich from the oil that was underground. This series of violent crimes is known today as the “Reign of Terror”.
Promising ascent
Martin Scorsese, Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro are announced on the steps of the Cannes Film Festival along with their partners Jesse Plemons, Kara Jade Methers, Janay Collins, Gillian Dion and Tantoi Cardinal. Other actors including Brendan Fraser, recent Best Actor Oscar winner WHALEcan join them.
For fans of one of the greatest filmmakers of all time, the Palme d’Or in 1976 with Taxi driver and president of the jury at Cannes in 1988, Flower Moon Assassins event in many ways. This is his first film since Irishman on Netflix in 2019. But he also brought two of his favorite actors to the screen for the first time. So far, Martin Scorsese has directed Robert De Niro nine times and Leonardo DiCaprio five times.

Produced by Apple Studios, Flower Moon Assassins will be released in theaters in France in partnership with Paramount on October 18. In the US, it will be shown on the big screen from 6 to 20 October. It will then be available worldwide on the AppleTV+ platform. The rest of the official selection for Cannes 2023 should be made public in mid-April. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Doomthe fifth part of the adventures of the archaeologist, played by Harrison Ford, should be part of it.
