In a recent study, a group led by geneticist David Sinclair claims to have discovered a cocktail of molecules that can reverse aging with visible results in less than a week.
According to this scientist, these discoveries will allow us to approach aging as a disease that needs to be treated, and not as a natural process.

According to this scientist, these discoveries will allow us to approach aging as a disease that needs to be treated, and not as a natural process.
The promise of avoiding aging with a simple pill is tempting. Last week, a team of researchers from Harvard, the University of Maine and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) announced that they had identified a cocktail of molecules that could reverse the aging of our cells. A “revolutionary discovery” which opens “A new frontier in the fight against aging and age-related diseases”scientists say. “Until recently, the best thing we could do was to slow down aging. This new data shows that we can now reverse it.”says Dr. David Sinclair, lead author of this paper, published July 12 in the American Medical Journal. Aging.
This new discovery offers the potential to reverse aging with a single pill, from improving vision to effectively treating age-related diseases.
The team claims they have been able to reprogram human cells to rejuvenate them using a chemical approach. “Until now, this process has required gene therapy, which has limited its wide-scale use.”, explains this geneticist, who directs the Center for Research on the Biology of Aging at Harvard Medical School, is quoted in a press release. Until very recently, the technology of gene therapy, which consists in introducing genetic material into cells, is very difficult to use and, above all, extremely expensive. The scientist points out that he and his team have identified six cocktails of molecules that offer “The ability to reverse aging with a single pill” with visible results “less than a week”.
- TOMORROW IN 3D – What if doctors could rejuvenate us?
The implications of this new discovery, he says, pave the way for regenerative medicine and possibly whole-body rejuvenation. Previous studies on the optic nerve, brain tissue, kidneys, and muscles have shown promising results: improved vision and lifespan have been seen in mice, and a recent report shows improved vision in monkeys, detailed at Phys.org. Following these encouraging results, preparations are underway for human clinical trials. Dr. David Sinclair, who was named one of the 50 most influential people in healthcare by the magazine. Time, is his own guinea pig. He recently made a name for himself by claiming that “disabled” about ten years.
