Dinosaurs: male or female, mystery solved?

This is unprecedented scientific progress.

Thanks to excavations carried out near Angouleme, in Charente, researchers may have been able to determine the sex of dinosaurs.

8 p.m. TF1 lifts the curtain on one of the greatest mysteries in history.

Are these dinosaurs male or female? This is one of the great mysteries of paleontology: the reproductive organs of dinosaurs were not fossilized. So, we know nothing about their sex or sex, well, almost nothing, because the deposit, located at Anjac-Charentes, near Angouleme, allows discoveries to be repeated.

Discovery of various bones

“A few days ago, we came across a vertebrae from a large, long-necked dinosaur called a sauropod. These are animals that can weigh several tons.” says Romain Pintore, a paleontologist at the National Museum of Natural History in Paris, in the video at the beginning of this article. But other bones have attracted the attention of paleontologists. “The dinosaur that has been found the most here is the Ornithomimosaurus from Anjac. It’s a dinosaur that walked on two legs.” he continues.

Ornithomimosaurus is about 1.90 meters high, three meters long, one hundred kilograms. The peculiarity of the ornithomimosaurs of Anjac-Charentes is that they, apparently, were very numerous. The bones of 67 different people were found there. Basically, these are femurs of various shapes. One of these forms could belong to females, and the other to males.
