World Handball Championship: France beat Germany and will play with Sweden in half

Blues in half. On Wednesday, the French national team beat Germany 35:28 in the quarterfinals of the Handball World Cup in Gdansk. They will face Sweden, who beat Egypt 22-16, at home in Stockholm on Friday for a place in the final.

With the score at 16:16 at half-time, the Blues dominated their opponent in the second act, relying in particular on the exceptional performance of Rémy Desbonnet, their 12-save substitute goalkeeper.

Montpellier, modest in size (1.82 m) for the position, launched his work in two stages. In the first, before the break, he slowly picked up the temperature after he entered the game instead of Gerard, who came out a quarter of an hour later without making the slightest save.

After the break, the reserve goalkeeper was practically impassable. With 12 saves, including two consecutive parades with five minutes left, Desbonnet definitely sealed the Blues’ win.
