First marathon, first win. The great hope of the world in running, Ethiopian Abeje Ayana won the 46th edition of the Paris Marathon on Sunday April 2, competing in Parisian darkness and in difficult conditions due to rain and wind, which did not allow a new record to be set. At just 20 years old, the rookie in the 42km 195 clung to the small lead group before giving way to his competitors 5km from the finish line to cross the finish line first, in 2h7’14”. 2h7’30”), nine years older than him, and the Kenyan Josphat Boyt (2h7’40”).
The first Frenchman was Medi Frere, who finished 10th with a time of 2:11:05″.
