Video Games: E3 2023’s premier game show canceled

The 2023 E3 video game show, one of the industry’s premier global video game events, has been canceled, according to organizers. The event, which was scheduled for June 13-16 in Los Angeles, California, sees its future compromised by the rise of online events announcing new video games and new products in the industry. Since 2020 and the pandemic, the show has already been canceled twice and held a virtual meeting in 2021.

Event company ReedPop and the Entertainment Software Association (ESA)) “we will think about the future of E3”, jointly indicated by the two parties, without giving any specific reason. In an email sent by ESA to its members and relayed by dedicated website IGN, the organization explained that the 2023 edition “didn’t generate much interest” breathe life into the living room “that would explain the size, power and influence of our industry.”

French video game publisher Ubisoft, for example, recently announced that it will not be hosting its own U.S. event at E3 at the same time.
