Cambodia: Forty crocodiles ate a 70-year-old child after falling into an enclosure.

About 40 farm-raised crocodiles ate a Cambodian man after he fell into their enclosure. A 72-year-old man was trying to get a crocodile out of its cage this Friday, May 26, when the reptile pulled him inside, grabbing a stick. The crocodiles then attacked him and tore his body to pieces, police said.

“While chasing a crocodile from an egg-laying cage, the crocodile attacked his stick, throwing the man into the enclosure”Mei Savri, police chief of Siem Reap, a city in the country’s northwest, said. “Other crocodiles pounced on him until he died”he explained, adding that the remains of his body were found, covered with bite wounds.

In 2019, a two-year-old girl was already eaten by several crocodiles from a reptile farm, also located in Siem Reap. A number of reptile farms have opened near this tourist town in northwestern Cambodia, which is the gateway to the temples of Angkor.
