Trucks full of racehorses drive along this road. After all, this is what we discovered on Saturday morning: the start of a huge crowd of riders. An ancient nomadic practice, a sport called kokpar.
The goal of the game is to grab a 40 kg goat carcass with bare hands, break out of the fight, and then put it in a circle and win a prize, such as a camel. This sport has been practiced in Central Asia for over 2000 years. Today, of course, Kazakhstanis have settled, but this legacy of the region’s former nomads has not disappeared.

A thousand riders of all social categories, and among them this deputy, he is also the president of the local equestrian federation. Kokpar is mainly developed in the south of Kazakhstan. It is a sport that is passed down from generation to generation.
