Next to her, the houses seem tiny and very fragile. A tornado looks like a sprawling monster that destroys absolutely everything in its path. The state of Arkansas suffered the most, with the homes of several victims and thousands of residents destroyed. Its capital city, Little Rock, was hit hard: overturned cars, huge uprooted trees, broken telephone poles or gutted houses. “It was impressive! It felt like we were flying in an airplane with such pressure that our ears were about to explode. It happened very quickly, literally in fifteen seconds.”says a local in the TF1 video at the beginning of this article.

Authorities in the states of Arkansas and Illinois issued a total of 450 tornado warnings in 24 hours. More than 250,000 homes are still without electricity and running water. “We will help each other because we have never faced such a situation, it is very painful to see it”, launches a person. This Saturday evening, aid continued to search for other victims of this already deadly tornado: Twenty-two people have died and the toll is likely to rise.
